Bad day!

The world isn’t perfect, and some days it wears you down. You can either accept that, and face it….or you can decide the rules are too tough and they shouldn’t apply to you. Chloe Neill, author of Biting Cold

Yesterday was one of those days that just wore me down.  A project I’ve been working on is supposed to be coming to an end but a vendor emailed that he could not meet my deadline.  Later I did a presentation that completely fell flat.  I was embarrassed, angry and upset with myself.  Then I got an email basically scolding me for not being responsible in spite of the fact that I had done my best to follow directions and meet their specifications.  Evening came and another email blindsided me.  It was one of those days.

So last night before I went to bed I made a list of everything that had gone wrong.  By the time I got to number eight I was feeling better just getting everything out of my head and on paper.  Plus it helped me realize that it really had been one of those days and it wasn’t all in my head.  Looking at my list I realized I could let some of it go.  I could see solutions to a few of the problems and that only left me with one big problem I would need to address.

I still haven’t solved that one problem, but today I woke up feeling much more in control.  I have been able to focus on that one challenge and realized I need to act, letting it slide will not serve me well.  I’ve come up with a few different ways to address it and decided to give myself a few days to let it sit, mull it over and challenge my assumptions.  By Wednesday I should have a solid plan and will act on it.

Have you had one of those days?  How did you make the best of it and decide what to address and how to go about it?  Facing those challenges is a way to grow.  You can do it!

Money Saving Tip

saving moneyYou’ve probably heard this before, but make sure you aren’t hungry when you go food shopping!  If you’re hungry, without realizing it you will end up spending more money because more things will appeal to you and you won’t be thinking as rationally.  It’s the perfect setup for impulse buying!
